As part of FACE's (The European Federation for Hunting and Conservation) Game Meat Week initiative, its 38-year-old member, the Federation for Hunting and Conservation - Malta (FKNK), prepared a quail meal for the Puttinu Cares Foundation (the children's cancer support group in Malta) and its dedicated medical staff. This gesture was in recognition of the Foundation's invaluable work in supporting affected patients and their families.
On this occasion, the FKNK also presented a copy of the book 'Game Recipes from Malta' to the CEO of the Puttinu Cares Foundation, Mr Rennie Zerafa, and the President, Ms Angele Cuschieri. This publication, the only one of its kind for Malta, celebrates traditional Maltese game cuisine and combines the Maltese socio-cultural heritage of sustainable hunting with Maltese culinary traditions.
The FKNK thus joins its counterparts in the EU Member States in promoting awareness and appreciation of game meat as a healthy, sustainable, wild-sourced food, while supporting meaningful causes within the Maltese community.
