THE FKNK COMMISSIONS ANOTHER DOCUMENTARY ON SPRING HUNTING IN MALTA FOR THE POPULAR CHANNEL, SKY CACCIA

Earlier this year, the Federation for Hunting and Conservation – Malta (FKNK) commissioned an exclusive documentary for SKY Caccia, presented and produced by the internationally renowned hunting journalist Federico Cusimano. The documentary is titled Malta, isola di antichi cacciatori.

Filmed in April 2025, the documentary highlights the tradition of spring hunting in Malta, interwoven with the historical, architectural and cultural heritage of the Maltese Islands, including gastronomy and other Mediterranean influences.

The Malta Tourism Authority part-sponsored the project in recognition of the documentary’s emphasis on Malta’s landscapes and cultural identity, making the production possible.

Looking ahead, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote Malta’s identity and traditions, the FKNK is collaborating with SKY Caccia on a new episode focusing on the traditional practice of live-finch trapping and its’ associated scientific and research aspects.
