On 6th June 2023, the 7,000,000 hunters within the European Federation for Hunting and Conservation (FACE), will table its Petition in Brussels European Parliament. The Petition which has been collected by the 37 FACE Members, including the 35-year Member, the Federation for Hunting and Conservation - Malta (FKNK), in just over six months, will be one of the largest environmental petitions ever presented in Brussels. The Petition is requesting the EU Commission, from where emerge over 80% of the Member States’ laws and regulations, and not just those that effect hunting, to work with us and not against us.
At present, on a country's number of hunters, percentage wise, the FKNK proudly tops the list of signatures collected. And we mean to stay on top to the very end.
Maltese hunters and trappers, besides other local citizens, have often complained that the respective laws and regulations that come from the EU, are inadequate and do not consider the unique particular situations that prevail on the Maltese islands, especially with regards our traditions, cultural heritage and way-of-life.
Therefore, this Petition is a chance for any Maltese citizen to make its voice heard in Brussels.
The FKNK is thus urging its hunter and trapper members to collect more signatures from family, relatives and friends, either on line at: https://signforhunting.com/ or manually on the attached Form, copies of which are also available at the FKNK office in Msida or in any one of over 70 FKNK outlets in Malta and Gozo. The deadline for signatures' collection is 31 May 2023.
