The Federation for Hunting and Conservation – Malta (FKNK) recently held its Annual General Council Meeting (AGCM) in accordance with its statute, marking an important year in which the Council was due for renewal through elections.
During the nomination process, the number of valid nominations received was equal to the number of vacant positions on the Council. Consequently, in line with the provisions of the statute, no election was required, and the nominated members were automatically confirmed to serve on the FKNK Council. The confirmed members are:
Lucas Micallef, Andrew Psaila, Daniel Xriha, Gerald Vella, Daniel Bonello, Charlton Falzon Cascun, Joe Perici Calascione, Anthony Mifsud, Richard Cilia, David Falzon, Anthony Mifsud, and Ben Bartolo.
The AGCM featured the presentation of the Administrative Report, the Treasurer’s Report, and the President’s address, outlining the FKNK’s work, achievements, and strategic direction. Additionally, members were presented with a report by the Secretary of the Commission for Public Relations and Education (KRPE), highlighting ongoing efforts and developments within this important area of work.
A significant highlight of this year’s AGCM was the introduction of a new initiative by the FKNK Council aimed at recognising individuals and organisations within the community who contribute to philanthropic and charitable causes. This marks the first time such recognition awards were presented during the AGCM.
The President of the FKNK presented Recognition Awards to the following recipients:
Peter Abela
David Borg
Kaċċaturi u Nassaba Mostin
Noel Xuereb
These awards serve as a token of appreciation for their valuable contributions, reflecting the Federation’s broader commitment to community, solidarity, and social responsibility.
The FKNK reaffirms its mission to continue strengthening its role not only within the fields of hunting, trapping and conservation but also as an active contributor to Maltese society.
Looking ahead, the FKNK continues to actively strengthen its international engagement. In the coming days, FKNK FACE Board delegates, together with the Vice President of the Mediterranean Region of FACE, will travel to Denmark to continue its work within FACE.
