Another Success for the Gun-Dog Field Trial at Aħrax tal-Mellieħa

Writer: FKNKFKNK

Saturday, 22nd February 2025, the Federation for Hunting and Conservation – Malta (FKNK), together with the Għaqda Kaċċaturi Nassaba Konservazzjonisti – Mellieħa (GħKNK Mellieħa) and the Public Relations and Educational Commission (KRPE), two sub-committees within the FKNK, successfully organised another edition of the ‘Gun-Dog Field Trial’ at Aħrax tal-Mellieħa, following international regulations.

The event was a great success, attracting a record number of participants, with a total of 44 trials featuring an equal number of dogs. Judging was entrusted to two internationally renowned experts – Dr Franco Rucci and Mr Alessandro Perciballi – who evaluated safety, education, and ethics while also observing the coordination between hunters and their gun dogs from various breeds.

The presence of these esteemed judges was made possible thanks to the sincere friendship of international journalist and SKY Caccia documentary presenter, Mr Federico Cusimano, who played a key role in managing the judge’s logistics. Federico also attended the event and had the opportunity to meet several FKNK members.
